3 Mobile Apps for Making the Lives of DJs Easier

In the digital age, DJs have a slew of apps to help them improve their craft. Despite this, however, not all phone software for the mobile market is created equal. If you're a fledgling DJ and want some help in improving your creativity and productivity, you might want to check out some apps that professional DJs all over the world are using.

TKFX

TKFX is a Traktor DJ controller that as the name implies, allows users to control the FX. It features a huge X/Y pad axis for ease of use, and allows users to control a single or group of Traktor effects. One of the best things about using this app is the time in setting up a tractor is very much minimal. All users have to do is plug the device in and they can start controlling the FX. The app is available for free, but it has a premium version (available for $0.99) that provides additional features to users.

Echo Pad

Echo Pad is a real-time, echo processor app. Just like TKFX, it has a huge X/Y interface for ease of use. It has a myriad of delay and sound types on sound looper, which makes it perfect for live performances, especially when combined with Audiobus, Noise Pad, or Tracktor DJ. Users of Echo Pad can share and export loops to friends that also use the app. Echo Pad costs $2.99 per download.

Auganizer

Auganizer is one, sexy app. It allows users to coordinate their Audio Units ANY WAY they desire, whether it by through categories or function. It is an OC DJ’s dream app. It uses a familiar OSX layout with a cover flow display so DJs powered by iOS will easily get a hang of using this.

The only drawback of Auganizer is that the app costs a whopping $34.99, which is a testament to the ongoing success of the mobile market. Gaming Realms, creator and host of the online slot gaming site Spin Genie, asserts that growth in the online app market will spike to over $40 billion soon, which is why production of some of the most advanced apps such as Auganizer are being taken seriously by developers who want to provide an improved and digitized version of their rather outdated technologies. On the flip side, despite having a high price tag, Auganizer has support for a myriad of DJ programs such as Logic, Mashcine, Mainstage, Ableton Live, and Garageband.
